LEA29- DENIURGE & SAPIENS – GEM’S LAND OF FRACATALS – MODERATE

Image
LEA29- DENIURGE & SAPIENS – GEM’S LAND OF FRACATALS – MODERATE SAPIENS "Sapiens" is an installation which is not conceived to be visited but to get visitors lost. It indeed explores the mythological theme of the labyrinth from which one cannot escape and which shelters unspeakable secrets. It takes here the shape of a network of inhospitable and uniform galleries textured with fractals, to which the verticality adds a crushing dimension. Limited universe, locked like a prison; Maze of interconnected passages similar to a brain where the thoughts turn in a loop without any solution; Structure with inhuman size where the visitors face indecision, loss of marks, solitude; Twofold architecture, the only alternative of which is a second entangled labyrinth of empty spaces jammed with the vain traffic of an hectic anonymous fleet; this metaphoric build has nevertheless an exit, which the visitor is invited to look for and which will explain its title. ...

GENOME ISLAND - GENERAL

Image
GENOME ISLAND - GENERAL Welcome to Genome!.  Genome island is a place to explore genetics. As Dr. Norval Kneten, Dean of Science and Humanities at Texas Wesleyan (Now President of Barton College) used to say "Science is the next best thing to recess!"   The island was designed to support genetics classes for university undergraduates studying biology, but anybody interested in science is welcome to come a...

Lea16 GEM – GENERAL

NO FRONTIERS (far away, beyond all seas, all frontiers, all countries, all beliefs – from Amin Maalouf) Theme This exhibition of fractals consists in 16 high resolution frames and invites you to dream along a futuristic journey towards the stars. All boards are made of about 18 plates carefully stuck, and displayed in environments built specifically, the minimalist structures of which (often fractals by themselves) contrast with the complexity of the images. These surroundings aim at bringing the 3rd dimension to pictures genuinely 2D, and provide to the visitors a volume to move in 3D, either simply flying or pi...
